Ring Ouzel Reports

Ken Hutchinson and Vic Fairbrother have been monitoring ring ouzels in Ryedale for 25 years, and have kindly allowed Ryenats to publish their findings. We are delighted that Ken and Vic were awarded the Marsh Award by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) for their work on Ring Ouzels – see this press release. We have annual reports for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Note: there are no records for 2019 or 2020 because Covid prevented access to the monitoring sites.

Papers

In addition ot the annual reports Ken and Vic have written several papers on our local ring ouzels including a fascinating look at the various dialects in the birds’ songs.
