Small Tortoisehell butterflySmall Tortoiseshell butterfly, basking on the flowers of Marjoram. These butterflies love aromatic herbs like thyme and marjoram, as well as “butterfly bushes” like Buddleia. 11/9/99. Note:
Although there may not be too many flowers about at this time of year, the fungi are usually at their best. There are photos of several fungi, some very colourful, on our Fungi page.
