Honour for Gordon Woodroffe

Some members may have noticed a photograph of Gordon Woodroffe in the local paper earlier in the year. Gordon has chaired our Society and was for many years our mammal recorder, and is well-known for his work towards the successful reintroduction of otters to our rivers. He was receiving a medal from the Mammal Society for outstanding services – not just for otters, but for his research into the decline of water voles, which he showed was due to mink which had escaped from fur farms. Our congratulations on this well-deserved award.
